He recently just finished his last season of high school cross country. Because he plans to continue running as part of his conditioning for boot camp, I bought him a new pair of 'toe shoes.' Unfortunately they are nowhere to be found right now. This really worries me. Why? Because this boy who owns a big piece of my heart is very disorganized and can be pretty careless. And he's going into the US Army. He will have firearms. He might be in high stress situations. What if he forgets something then? What will the cost be? It could be a lot more than a $100 pair of running shoes.
They say that the Army will be good for him. I do believe that the experience has the potential to teach him a lot and give him a great start in life. Let's just hope that if he loses anything, it will be replaceable.
