After some serious back and forth on what unit he was going to and whether he would move today, he is in his new room!
He was supposed to move into his new barracks at his permanent unit today. But no. He also has an OT appointment and apparently there is no flexibility on times for either of those activities, so the move has to wait, which puts him into the new unit tomorrow, which could mean it gets postponed until after Thanksgiving. Either way the odds of him coming home are dwindling. Let's hear it for Christmas.... UPDATE: Hahaha in true Army fashion, after telling him he would not be able to move today, he is moving today.
"Landed! I see a city that is not Columbus. I think I'll like it here."
Despite being told by the Doctors not to travel, he is being sent to Fort Carson in Colorado Springs any day now. He knows this is a cool station, but he is very bummed to so dependent on others to help him pack and travel and to be showing up to his new unit with an injury. Hopefully things will be looking better soon because this is definitely a tough set of circumstances.
Well the surgery did not happen on Tuesday. He had his IV in and was ready to go and some emergency cases took precedence. So, the new plan is the surgery will be on Thursday. I hope it works out and he can start to move forward. The chances of him getting back into Airborne and RASP at this time are slim, but there is a chance. I am proud of him for how he is handling this huge disappointment.
